Kim Masoner
19
60-2014

Our community suffered a tremendous loss with the untimely passing of Kim Masoner.  Kim was the founder of Save Our Beach,  an environmental education organization that has conducted beach clean-ups in Seal Beach and surrounding communities for the past 15 years.  Kim will always be remembered for the way that she inspired so many with her boundless energy and endless enthusiasm for life.

Kimberly Kay Klinzing was born in Waterloo, Iowa in 1960, moving at age 8 to Southern California with her parents and two older brothers.  The family settled in Diamond Bar where Kim graduated from Pomona High School. During her teenage years Seal Beach was always the destination for day trips to the coast--it was love a first sight! Kim was determined that one day Seal Beach would be her home, that dream came true in 1984.

Kim left her mark on our town spending 10 years with the Chamber of Commerce as President and Executive Director. During her tenure she worked with the Chamber to create and revive several of our most outstanding community events: The Annual Car Show, The Annual Christmas Parade, Summer Concerts in the Park, The Sandcastle Festival, Thanksgiving Meal Service at St. Anne's Church, just to name a few.

Kim is survived by her parents Speed and Peggy Klinzing, and her two brothers, Kevin and Kris Klinzing.  Steve Masoner is forever grateful for the 23 years they spent as man and wife.

Kim Masoner

- Born March 23, 1960

- Sadly left us on October 20, 2014.

A celebration of life in Kim's honor was held November 1, 2014. Several hundred friends and family gathered at the beach as the stormy Southern California skies gave way to a beautiful rainbow made just for Kim.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.~Margaret Mead

In lieu of flowers Kim's family requests donations be made to the
